1）　Mimi Reisel Gladstein＆Chris Matthew Sciabarra ed.，Feminist Interpretations of Ayn Rand（Pen State U. P. 1999）を参照のこと。これは，ランドのフェミニズム解釈として最初のまとまった試みである。

2）　リバタリアニズムとは，政府は「国防と外交と犯罪取り締まり」のみ責任を持つ「小さな政府」であるべきで，あとは個人の選択に任せ，個人の責任に帰すべきと考える徹底した個人主義思想である。経済も自由市場主義であり，政府による金融管理や市場介入は認めない。当然，外国には不干渉主義であり国内問題優先である。世界の秩序と人権を守るためには派兵もいとわないグローバリズムには対立する。しかし従来の共和党のように伝統的価値観保持ではない。個人主義の立場から，選択の自由を認め中絶権を支持する。しかし民主党政策の弱者救済や被差別者救済のために必要な財源確保としての重税と福祉担当公務員の増大には反対する。「大きな政府」は必ず国民と公務員の寄生化を促進し，官僚機構の腐敗を招くと考える。自助努力による民間運営が，あくまでも社会の基本と考える。次の文献を参照のこと。David Boaz，Libertarianism: A Primer（New York：The Free Press，1997）副島隆彦訳『リバータリアニズム入門』洋泉社，一九九　八年。古村治彦「リバータリアニズムに関する一考察」（1999年度早稲田大学大学院社会科学研究科修士論文）。森村進『自由はどこまで可能か――リバタリアニズム入門』講談社，2001年。
　　この政治思想文脈以外に，アリストテレス哲学研究者アラン・ゴットテルフ（Alan Gotthelf）が1994年に日本を訪問し，東大，慶応大，神戸大，京大，北海道大で講演し，ランドについても言及した。筆者が調べた限り，日本でのランド研究は，これらに尽きており，まだ実質的に始まっていないと断言できる。
